Wanderers Kids ages 0-5

Bring ALL the kids to Story Time!

Monday Story Time

10:30am Mondays @ Library (700 Lincoln Ave.)

It’s Story Time–with a twist! We’ll set out curated stacks of themed books. Kids, bring an adult for some free-form reading for the first 30 minutes–-read to your adult, or ask them to read to you, or read to a stuffed animal or a service dog! Sometimes, Ms. Lori or Ms. Sarah will read, too.

For the second 30 minutes, the littles will stay in the Children’s area with sensory toys, while the school-aged kids join Ms. Deb in the meeting room for age-appropriate sensory toys, games, and activities.

Everyone wins! And no small people will be crushed in the making of this fun.

Wednesday Story Time

10:30am Wednesdays @ Discovery Center (504 East Main St.)

Story Time will be held OUTSIDE whenever the weather permits. Please check our Facebook @lplibrary around 9am on Wednesday mornings to find out for sure.  Ms. Sarah and Ms. Lori will read stories, then we’ll play with sensory toys.  If we’re indoors, sock requirements and maximum attendance limits will apply.

School-aged kids will join Ms. Deb for age-appropriate, separate sensory play, games and activities (either before or after the stories). You might want to bring socks, just in case we decide to sneak in and use the Sensory Space while the littles are outside!

Explorers Kids Ages 6-12

Sibling Shenanigans!

10:30am Mondays @ Library (700 Lincoln Ave.)

You don't even need to have a younger sib in Story Time to join this fun program! School-aged kids are welcome to read or listen at Story Time, or join Ms. Deb right away for age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.  We'll even enjoy some sensory play! But we'll do so separately from the littles, for safety's sake.

More Sibling Shenanigans!

10:30am Wednesdays @ Discovery Center (504 East Main St.)

Sibling Shenanigans will be held OUTSIDE whenever the weather permits. Please check our Facebook @lplibrary around 9am on Wednesday mornings to find out for sure.  Ms. Sarah and Ms. Lori will read stories, then the little kids will play with sensory toys.

School-aged kids will join Ms. Deb for age-appropriate, separate sensory play, games and activities (either before or after the stories). You might want to bring socks, just in case we decide to sneak in and use the Sensory Space while the littles are outside!

Pokémon Trading Card Club

3-5pm Mondays @ Library (700 Lincoln)

Trade cards, play the game, or just hang out and talk Pokemon!  All experience levels are welcome. Snacks provided.

Beyond the Beaten Path with Auntie Kayte!

Friday, June 28, 2pm @ the Library

Award-winning singer-songwriter Auntie Kayte (Kayte Deioma)  brings us "Beyond the Beaten Path", an interactive program for kids grades kindergarten through 6th grade (though caregivers and siblings are always welcome, too!).  Spark your sense of adventure, exploration and discovery!

Passengers Teens ages 13-17

Feel free to come to both!

Snacks will be provided at both teen programs.  Sorry, we'll be strictly enforcing the 13-18 age limit on both programs. While the programs will, of course, be supervised by librarians with "cool mom" vibes, you need a place to be yourselves, and you can't do that with trailing little sibs in tow. Bring your friends and make new ones!

Game On!

3-5pm Thursdays @ Library (700 Lincoln)

Teens aged 13-18, Time to get your Game On!  Oh, come on, you'd just be at home gaming anyway. You might as well come to the Library and game with real, live people! Also, there will be snacks. Never underestimate the appeal of snacks.

We'll set up the Nintendo Switches with some player vs player and cooperative games. You can also take a turn on the Oculus Rift.

Teen Chill

3-5pm Thursdays @ Library (700 Lincoln)

Teens aged 13-18 are invited to this chill hangout. Eat snacks. Do some coloring or work a puzzle. Journal. Talk. Or don't. Whatevs! So long as it's chill.

Tourists Adults ages 18+

An Amble in the Park

6pm Tuesdays @ Metzger Park (1420 Nickelplate Ave.)

Weather permitting.  Please check our Facebook @lplibrary on Tuesdays around 5pm for cancellation if the weather is poor.

If you're a hard-core hiker or exercise walker, this weekly stroll is NOT for you.

All ages are welcome to an amble around Metzger Park. Strollers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices are welcome! Join us at pavilion #2 (the smaller one to the north) for a casual ambulation around the paved upper walking path at Metzger Park.  We'll observe nature, try out some cool device apps to identify birds, insects and plants, and enjoy the pleasant summer weather.  We may take a small detour and wander down to have a look at the construction site!

Bug spray recommended.
