2026 Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading keeps our minds working over the summer, and lasts for 8 weeks, Saturday, June 6 through Friday, July 31, 2026. BONUS: You may win prizes for all the reading you would do anyway!

TO PARTICIPATE:

Register June 6- July 31

Earn tickets by

  • Checking out library items June 6 - July 31 (1 ticket per item)
  • Attending programs June 6 - July 31 (1 ticket per person, per program)
  • Completing weekly challenges: complete and turn in to collect 10 tickets
  • Submitting weekly reading logs: complete and turn in to collect 10 tickets
  • For each month (June & July), the top reader in each age group, calculated by the number of pages turned in on reading logs, will win 100 bonus tickets. We’ll even put your name on them for you! Submit June reading logs by June 30 and July reading logs by July 30.

Submit tickets for prizes

  • Write your name on each ticket, and submit that ticket into the tub for the prize you would like to win.
  • All tickets must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, July 31.
  • Winners will be contacted on Monday, August 3.

  • Summer Reading Kickoff Party! Sat, June 6, 2-4pm Register for Summer Reading and earn tickets with games and activities!
  • Firefly Appreciation Day Sat, June 13  Learn about fireflies (Ope, sorry, lightning bugs) all day through activities and crafts (10am-2pm), then join us that night to catch some (8:30-10pm)! This is strictly a catch and release situation.
  • T(w)een Scene Tuesdays 3-4pm Ages 10-17 are invited to hang out, make stuff, eat snacks, and be yourself.
  • How to Write a Book from Concept to Completion Tuesdays June 9 - July 28, 6-8pm Unearth your own story with this writing class! Please register for this free program.
  • Caturday! Sat, June 20, 10am-2pm Celebrate all things feline, including adoptable cats from the Stark County Humane Society. Take home an adorable new roommate!
  • Make a Mosaic Stepping Stone, a 2-part craft Weds June 24 & July 1 @ 6pm. Teens and adults only; please register for this free program. Create your design out of broken crockery, then cast in in cement.

 

Plus, all the regular programs!

  • Story Time and Sibling Shenanigans Mondays & Wednesdays @ 10:30am, outdoors, weather permitting, featuring bubbles and water play for the older kids! Not your jam? Story Time 1pm Wednesday afternoon is always indoors.
  • Pokemon Card Club Mondays 3-5pm Play, trade, and geek out for all things Pokemon.
  • Bed Time Story Time Tuesdays 6pm A little mellow sensory play, a few bedtime stories, then everyone dozes off on the way home. wear your jammies and bring your plushy!
  • High School Hangout Thursdays 3-5pm Gaming (of the video, board, and lawn varieties) and snacks.
  • Trivia Night! 2nd Tuesdays (June 9 & July 14) @6pm Bring your A-game to this fast a furious team event. Don't have a team? No worries, we'll match you with some other singletons, and probably make magic!
  • Puzzle Chamber Murder Mystery Night 3rd Tuesdays (teens & adults only; please register for this free program: June 16 & July 21)  Choose from 1-, 2-, or 3-hour mysteries! Break the ciphers, solve the puzzles, and figure out whodunit! Snacks provided.
