The Board of Trustees of Louisville Public Library has recently enacted several new policies that the Board knows will be welcomed by patrons.
The new policies include:
- Institution of Saturday house of service during the summer months from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. (Previously the library was closed on Saturdays during the summer.)
- Removal of age restrictions for issuing library cards. (Previously no one under the age of five was issued a card.)
- Approval of alternate forms of identification in lieu of a patron's library card, e.g. dirver's license. (Previously, the library card was required in order to borrow materials).
- Limit of 10 DVDs at checkout (Previously, the limit was 5.)
- Approval of a second renewal on items, excluding some audiovisual items. (Previously patrons were allowed one renewal.)
We know our patrons will benefit from these new patron service policies.
