Gulf Coast Book Collection

Jay Barton, of the Louisville Rotary Club, has announced that the Louisville chapter, along with other Rotary Clubs, will be collecting gently-used hardcover books to help restock libraries damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Louisville Public Library will serve as a collection point.

Jay Barton writes:

The Louisville Rotary Club along with other Rotary Clubs are starting to collect books to send down to New Orleans and other Gulf Area sites to help re-stock libraries.

Books can be dropped off at The Louisville Public Library during normal business hours or on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday at the Old Ford Garage on 44 from 5pm to 7pm. Tonight (June 21, 2006) will be the first Wed. night drop off.

The Louisville Rotary will appreciate any donations of any books that you would like to give us. However, we have been asked to limit the collections to hard back books and not paperbacks. If you have books that you would like to donate but you can't deliver them please give me a call or send me an email and I will pick them up.

Also, if you have any questions please email or call me at 330-875-3138 (home) or 330-875-5539 (work).

Finally please forward this email onto anyone that you think might have some books that they would be willing to donate.

Thanks

Jay Barton
