Library Board Honors Volunteers with Dinner

The Board of Trustees and several staff members hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner of lasagna and all the trimmings, at the Eagles Lodge in downtown Louisville. The dinner was held on November 17, 2005.

The dinner was served to the library's many volunteers by the Trustees, in thanks for many hours of service. Every volunteer also received a lovely metal bookmark crafted to look like stained glass, and several volunteers who had given especially large amounts of time were further recognized with an award plaque.

Volunteers helped with the annual book sale, with technical and programming work for the web site, and most of all, with cleanup after last winter's disastrous roof leak. Some volunteers had logged several hundred hours washing mold from book pages, to salvage the volumes that had been soaked in the flood.
