Four first-year eligible players, John Randle, Shannon Sharpe, Bruce Smith, and Rod Woodson, are among the 17 finalists who will be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings have three finalists, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have two. The Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, and the Washington Redskins each have one finalist who spent all or a significant part of their careers with that team.

Three mementos from Andre Johnson's record-setting season in 2008 arrived at the Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
The jersey, pants, shoes and socks worn by Detroit Lions kicker Jason Hanson and the football he kicked to set the NFL career record for 50-yard field goals was donated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The memorabilia arrived at the Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

"Slingin' Sammy" Baugh, the last remaining member of the Hall's charter Class of 1963, died at the age of 94.
