Patrons are expected to conduct business with the Library staff in a courteous manner, free of disruptive behavior, for the benefit of all patrons. All patrons are required to be fully dressed, including shirt and shoes at all times. Shoes with cleats are not permitted in the Library. Recreational riding of wheeled vehicles (including but not limited to bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, roller skates) is not permitted on library grounds or in the library building. All wheeled vehicles must be left outside the building. Pets, except for those used to assist handicapped persons, are not permitted in the Library.
Disruptive behavior which is not permitted includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Physical abuse
- Indecent exposure
- Intoxication
- Use of illegal drugs
- Obscene, vulgar or abusive language or gestures
- Smoking, eating, or drinking (except water at the water fountain)
- Any other behavior which infringes on the right of others to use the Library.
Use of personal audio equipment is permitted only with the use of earphones. Sound must not be audible to others.
Offenders will be asked to leave the Library. Those who refuse to do so will be escorted by a Louisville Police Officer.
