Children’s Department Assistant
Position Opening



The Library plans to hire a Children’s Department Assistant for 15 - 20 hours @
$9.50 per hour


The Louisville Public Library is seeking candidates for the above-stated position.


         Position will remain open until filled.


High school diploma required with some college coursework preferable.  


In addition, duties and proficiency will include:


            Providing readers advisory assistance to children from zero to young adult


Assisting the Head of the Children’s Department in research and delivery of library programs for children and families


Assisting the Head of the Children’s Department in weeding the library collection


Creating book displays bulletin board designs as well as decorating for library events


Experience in using Microsoft products:  Word, Excel and Publisher (preferred)


Filing, typing, and other clerical duties


Physical requirements are for standing, lifting, and frequent bending

      Scheduled hours will include working some evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays
